Irresistible Trends this Year

Fashion is something that’s never consistent and it keeps on changing with time, be it something people adore or abhor. And considering how vibrant our country is with colors and its beautiful four seasons, trends keep on substituting with time.
2019 year has been a year full of different changes when it came to fashion trends consisting of fringes, peplums, bold colors, short/medium shirts, cigarette trousers and long float gowns.
Fringe has travel to the Pakistan fashion market all the way from the international fashion market now! This style trend will be adding a light of life into the formal events from dusk till dawn whereas Long and flowy gowns have always remained the favorite clothing trend in the wedding seasons and still they are. They are best embellished with the heavy embroidery work where it often compliments the figure in elegant variations.
The summer trend was all about stylish medium length shirts that always remained on top of the list! This trend was back again in fashion market this lawn season with cigarette trousers, you definitely have to say goodbye to all your bell-bottom trousers and get ready to dazzle yourself in the amazing and slimming cigarette pants.
In spring it all changed to some set of softer approach to color for the set with ice-cream pastels and also with the dusty tones. The shades were all about romantic hues that was favorite straight away from bridals to casual wear with some pastel peplums for the formal parties and final for all brides out there this year was a bliss as stylish floral lehengas came back in the trend, never going out of fashion at all. They are colorful in hues and added with the vibrant effect of designs for the best spring weddings.
Bell bottoms are very much in trend these days. The fashion of bell-bottoms has returned with remarkable popularity in the fashion world. You can carry them both casually and formally. For formal functions, you can wear a peplum with embellished bell bottom. For casual routines pair a funky top along with plain bell trouser.
Dresses with capes add charm and style to your personality and look more royal in output. Capes are so much in trend nowadays, suits with casual outfits, wedding dresses, sarees, and skirts and even over jumpsuits. Many capes have designed to wear over the dress, and others need to attach to the shoulders of the shirt, in both ways it looks attractive. The most important thing is to choose the excellent material fabric which suits. In such dresses, silk, crepe, chiffon is used. There are a lot of ways you can design a cape suitable for your clothing depending on the style you’re carrying.
The gowns trend as you can carry it on almost every occasion giving off a very gentle and classy vibe. And seeing how people are wearing peshwas in weddings, mehndi, and walima. Every trend this year has been amazing and people loved it including the critics. But then again fashion is all about how you carry yourself with anything you’re wearing making you look beautiful than ever.

Women's Summer Clothing

Summer, the most anticipated time in west, is the least liked time of the year in east especially Pakistan. But every misfortune is a blessing in disguise, is what is mostly said. Not actually a misfortune, but yes, a blessing in disguise. Summer brings us the mangoes, melons and mania for following new trends. Talking about fashion trends, it has become not a competitive advantage among people but a competitive necessity for those who have the desire to be liked, to be generally acceptable in the society. Those frumps who don’t follow what is ‘in’ are socially discluded.
To discuss what the store had for us, for this year’s summer, a small addition in heaps of blogs by fashionistas. Before starting what, we had this year, I would put light on what was totally ‘out’ this season. Palazzos, along with long shirts, kurti style shirts—medium length but very loosely fitted—were not in fashion anymore. This year brought us medium and small length shirts with cigarette pants which overall shows a person slim, fit and taller. The stuff used for summers is mostly lawn, cotton, chiffon and silk which are all light weight as well as lightly felt on body because this kind of stuff doesn’t get stuck to our body and so we feel relaxed in it. Apart from cigarette pants, bell bottoms were also preferred a lot by the customers.
It is the fashion cycle that the trends repeat themselves. If we look at the previous pages of our Pakistani fashion diaries, bell bottoms were the hot cakes in 90s era of black n white films, but again, it can be seen along with newest digital prints of this modern era of 21st century.
Several collections of designers are heard and seen to be launched all over summer, because, the first reason is that summer lasts for approximately 8 months in Pakistan, secondly, we are celebrating Eid in summers for the last several years, so along with summer collection, we  are presented with Eid collection, spring collection, and many more.
The colors chosen for summer clothing have to be kept in mind. Although, majority of people love the color black and their closets are filled with black dresses, but wearing black in summer can be red signal warning when we step out of homes. That’s why the choice of colors in summer clothing are mostly light and bright. This not only portray what are our temperature needs in summer but also targets our moods, emotions and temperament level in summer which has a direct relation with the increasing temperature. So, light colors give a soothing feeling and leave a positive impact on our emotions. Summer, known for its playful vibes makes us feel active and energetic, so here bright colors play their role and impact our daily activities especially if they are worn on some gatherings and events.
It had been a trend on Instagram also that every Pakistani actress was opting for white to wear in summer especially in Ramzan, for showing their spiritual bond with the religion, purity of Ramzan, and a face to summer vibes.
Talking about the style introduced this year in summer were a shirt sewed in a manner that it looked as if coat is worn over it. That is, it was a frock style shirt with its front a little higher than the rest of the shirt from back and sides. Moreover, off-shoulders and off-sleeves were also a preference for fashion forward folks. Apart from designer wear, our local markets were filled with ‘chikankari’ cloth which is embroidered with mostly white cotton thread and has small holes in the dress. New designs along with printed chikan were trending a lot this Eid, especially.
That’s what is trending, what is available in market, but prefer wearing what makes us comfortable, that suits us and reflects our personality. Keeping up with fashion is good, but keeping ourselves before fashion is best.

Winter is coming!

So Zara is out with it latest winter 2019 collection and the Spanish attire brand yet again focusing on setting new trends. And like always its collection was much awaited and was much appreciated on its launch.
Every year, Zara comes up with decent, rich colors for their jackets collection and since winter is almost here, I bought one of their new arrivals from the store. And my experience was good Zara didn’t killed my high hopes.
It’s a very soft and light brown color and the best part about it is that it isn’t very overwhelming to look at whether it be its design or its color. It has a furry inner that feels extremely cozy and comfortable. The beige contrast given to the fur brings out a great combination to the two colors. With no hassle of buttons, the jacket has a zipper giving it a very clean finish.
The price on the other hand is a quite much at £95.99, which is equally PKR 19,500. But well... Zara being a top European clothing brand and well recognized, a high price does come along. But just a ‘Resemblance’ to the original suede fabric, buying this faux material at this price quite a huge lump!

80's 90's Fashion

The 80s was the revolutionary era in Pakistan. The 80s also witnessed revolutionary changes in Pakistan - politically, and in response to the oppressive time that the country went through under General Ziaul Haq, literally. The winds of change also affected fashion. There was an urge for liberation. Among women large hair-dos and puffed -up styles typified the decade.80s placed heavy emphasis on expensive clothes and fashion accessories. Women expressed an image of wealth and success through shiny costumes and jewellary. The '80s was a big decade: big hair, big shoulders, and big statement for night out, despite having a conservative society, Pakistan has never been devoid of fashion since its inception. Every era brought its unique styles and designs fit for that time both for women and men. But this style and designs have only revolve around the traditional dress, shalwar kameez with dupatta for women. The concept of shalwar kameez is the same but with some variations added in their traditional dress.

In the mainstream fashion, clothing has been a major part of Pakistani fashion scene for decades. Cotton suits and lawns for women created by top designers of the country have an overwhelming following around the globe. On the other hand, western wear is still confined to the fashion elite or worn occasionally by teenagers or college/university going women in big cities. Pakistan fashion industry has, slowly but surely, grown and improved immensely through the years. Despite political and economic setbacks faced by the country, this industry has persistently taken brave steps forward to make a prominent mark. With a long term stable political and economic platform, Pakistan fashion industry has the potential to rise to heights which has not been fathomed before.
Karachi emerged as Pakistan’s fashion capital. This was the beginning of a new era. Fashion flourished through the ’90s but it was in the early 2000s, when the first batch of young and enthusiastic fashion designers graduated from the Pakistan School of Fashion Design in Lahore, that the structure of fashion changed forever. Suddenly, there was a new guard that buzzed with business on their minds. When it comes to fashion, we simply cannot ignore 90’s classic fashion trends.  Denim Overalls, Round-frame glasses, Leather jackets, Claw Clips, Jelly Shoes, Short bob and even the brown lip stick was in trend.
